Job Summary

The Chemical Process Operator will play a key role in the safe and efficient repackaging of agrochemicals within a factory environment. Reporting to the Operations Director, he/she will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining chemical processing equipment, ensuring product quality, safety compliance, and contributing to streamlined operations. The role supports the company’s mission to deliver high-quality agrochemical products to farmers and agribusinesses in a timely and sustainable manner.

Responsibilities

  • Chemical Handling & Repackaging: Operate and monitor machinery used in the repackaging of agrochemicals, ensuring accurate measurements, labeling, and adherence to safety protocols.
  • Quality Control: Inspect incoming and repackaged products to maintain compliance with quality standards, and identify any inconsistencies or defects.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety and environmental regulations regarding the handling, storage, and disposal of chemicals, including the use of PPE and spill response protocols.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of repackaging equipment to prevent downtime and ensure operational efficiency.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of repackaging activities, including batch numbers, quantities, and safety checks.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with the warehouse, logistics, and quality control teams to ensure smooth coordination of product flow and timely deliveries.
  • Inventory Monitoring: Assist in tracking inventory levels of raw materials and finished products, and report shortages or issues to supervisors.
  • Process Improvement: Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize factory operations, enhance safety, and reduce waste.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Sciences, Toxicology, or a related technical field. Relevant vocational training is an advantage.
  • Experience: Prior experience working in a chemical or agrochemical manufacturing or packaging environment.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with chemical processing equipment, safety procedures, and quality control measures.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy, cleanliness, and safety when handling chemical products.
  • Communication Skills: Clear communication skills to report issues, follow instructions, and contribute to team discussions.
  • Teamwork: Ability to collaborate with colleagues across different departments to support operational goals.
