Job Summary

The Procurement Officer, he/she will be responsible for overseeing and managing the procurement process, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. Reporting to the Operations Director, he/she will play a pivotal role in maintaining strong supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the procurement.

Responsibilities

  • Sourcing: Identify and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting negotiations to secure favorable terms.
  • Purchase Orders: Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Bid Evaluation: Evaluate supplier bids and proposals, considering factors such as cost, quality, and delivery timelines.
  • Supplier Relationships: Cultivate and maintain positive relationships with suppliers to ensure the best value for the company.
  • Contract Negotiation: Negotiate terms and conditions with suppliers, including pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and procedures, as well as relevant laws and regulations.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of procurement transactions, contracts, and agreements.
  • Cost Analysis: Conduct cost analysis to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the finance team to manage procurement budgets effectively.
  • Quality Standards: Collaborate with stakeholders to define quality standards and ensure that suppliers meet or exceed these standards.
  • Product Evaluation: Evaluate samples and prototypes to ensure they meet specified requirements.
  • Identify Risks: Identify and assess risks associated with procurement activities and implement risk mitigation strategies.
  • Market Research: Stay informed about market trends and conditions that may affect procurement decisions.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Relevant certifications (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) are a plus.
  • Experience: Proven experience in procurement, with a track record of successful supplier management and cost-effective purchasing.
  • Negotiation Skills: Strong negotiation and communication skills to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical abilities for cost analysis, market research, and risk assessment.
  • Detail-Oriented: Attention to detail to ensure accuracy in procurement processes and documentation.
